A student stands over a patient, needle poised. They have a “perfect” prescription: a textbook combination of points harvested from a lecture slide on chronic lower back pain. Michael Zakko graduated from the Master of Science in Acupuncture program at the Eastern School of Acupuncture and Traditional Medicine, where he received the accolade “Clinician of the Year.” He then founded Synergy Acupuncture LLC, in Lyndhurst, N.J., to holistically treat and help athletes reach their full potential.
