Mission Statement
The mission of National University of Health Sciences is to provide and promote the necessary leadership, management and resources for the advancement of education, new knowledge, outreach, and the ethical practice of the healing arts and sciences as taught within the programs of this university.
History
The University was founded in 1906 in Davenport, Iowa. It moved to Chicago in 1908 to access a more rigorously scientific academic culture.
The Master of Science in Acupuncture and the Master of Science in Oriental Medicine programs at the National University of Health Sciences are accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM).
Programs Offered
NUHS offers a seven-trimester program leading to the Master of Science in Acupuncture and a nine-trimester program leading to the Master of Science in Oriental Medicine.
Students benefit from NUHS' 100 years of experience in educational excellence, as well as its extensive biomedical science facilities and dynamic faculty. Acupuncture and oriental medicine students also gain clinical experience in our on-campus integrative care center.
Acupuncture and oriental medicine students at National not only receive a thorough curriculum in their arts, but also learn fundamental biomedical science and modern medical diagnostics including coursework in radiology, pathology, physiology, microbiology and public health.
