Mission Statement
The mission of RainStar University is to provides state-of-the-art education, training and service in the art, science and business of holistic healthcare to its students and clients through constant and never-ending improvement in order to bring the holistic healthcare professional to the level of mainstream acceptance.
The specific mission of the university's College of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine is to serve the community through education, health care and research in the sciences and art of health care and disease prevention, based upon the principles and practices of acupuncture and Oriental medicine, and to educate and train students in traditional Chinese medicine to be successful, independent practitioners of acupuncture with a strong foundation in biomedical sciences, research and business practices.
History
RainStar University was founded in 1994 in Scottsdale, Arizona. It is one of the more recent schools to have its program be granted candidate status by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. It was made a candidate for accreditation in November 2002.
Programs Offered
RainStar University offers a Master of Science in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine degree. The purpose of the program is to train and graduate successful independent practitioners of Oriental medicine, based on the concepts of traditional Chinese medicine, with a strong foundation in biomedical sciences and research. The program is 40 months in duration, with 10 tirmesters lasting 15 weeks each.
