5 Social Media Mistakes That Hurt Your Practice

5 Social Media Mistakes That Hurt Your Practice
By Heather Stafford DACM

When one starts a business, they build a website, set up all the social media profiles and make some content, but stop short of understanding these tools. Only after the inevitable lackluster growth do they form the opinion that social media doesn't work. The truth is Social Media requires attention and consistency over time. Some common mistakes Acupuncturists make:

  • Social media efforts will get results now: Social Media is about brand and relationship development. That takes time.
  • I can post the same content everywhere: Each platform has a different personality, just as two practices might differ.
  • I don't want to post too much: Opinions vary on this, but algorithms only show your content to specific targets.
  • Patients only want to see acupuncture posts: While educating and advertising is important so is connecting with your audience. Don't shy away from personal interest posts.
  • Facebook and Google ads don't work: Advertising is an integral part of a successful marketing plan. Ads work when you are consistent, they are effective, and when you adjust to improve outcomes.

Social media is the yellow pages and business card of the 21st century.

I help clients build their brand and social media presence. As an acupuncturist I can add value to your content with our education. If you are interested in learning more, I have a beginner to intermediate course for social media and ads.

My courses are NCCAOM approved for 4 PDA's for the Web course or 6 PDA's for my live online courses!
