On April 1, 2026, China implemented a landmark national standard: Classification and Determination of TCM Constitution. Although designated as a recommended rather than mandatory standard, it represents a major step in modernizing traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) by converting traditional constitution theory into a clear, measurable and clinically practical framework. By clarifying the relationship between constitution, disease, and pattern differentiation, the standard strengthens professional credibility, supports research, and enhances patient-centered treatment.
AT Announces Call for Columnists
Each year, Acupuncture Today's editorial board reviews its list of authors and columns. While we try to be a comprehensive source of acupuncture and Oriental medicine information, we also realize that there are some aspects of Asian healing that may go unreported but are nevertheless worthy of discussion. Toward that end, Acupuncture Today is announcing a call for columnists interested in writing for AT in 2003.
Slots for the following columns are now available: geriatrics; history; nutrition and wellness; legislative issues; Oriental bodywork; and research. Potential columnists should have an intimate knowledge of acupuncture and Oriental medicine, and the ability to write clearly and meet deadlines on a regular basis. In addition, individual practitioners and students are encouraged to submit articles about their experience(s) in practice and in the profession.
If you would like to be considered for one of the columns available, please submit the following:
- One (1) original article that has not been published elsewhere. Articles can be sent by fax (714-899-4273), e-mail (editorial@acupuncturetoday.com) or computer disk;
- A professional-quality photograph (preferably color);
- An updated curriculum vitae;
- An outline of the topics you would like to discuss in your column.
