Acupuncture Today has received a press release from the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) regarding its efforts to promote Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Day. The release is printed below in its entirety for review.
Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Day 2005
ALEXANDRIA, Va. - Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Day will have its fourth annual celebration on October 24th. The National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine is hoping to continue to spread the word of AOM Day and how the ancient practices and healing arts of acupuncture and Oriental medicine (AOM) are able to help people with their daily and lifelong issues.
There are several groups working together to promote the day and the AOM professions. Some of the activities already planned include a media tour in which practitioners will be interviewed on live television on October 24 th; free treatments offered by practitioners and students of accredited schools of acupuncture and Oriental medicine; official proclamations from mayors and governors throughout the nation; and much more. The NCCAOM invites you to celebrate by visiting the AOM Day website (www.aomday.org) and letting everyone know how you are planning to celebrate.
The events and website content have resulted from the combined efforts of several professional organizations, including the NCCAOM, the American Organization for Bodywork Therapies of Asia (AOBTA), the American Association of Oriental Medicine (AAOM), the Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Alliance (AOM Alliance), and the Council of Colleges of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (CCAOM).
