Aimc Berkeley Announces New President
Following a national search, the Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine College (AIMC) in Berkeley, Calif., has announced the appointment of Teri Powers, DAOM, LAc, as its new president. Dr. Powers recently completed the DAOM program and most recently was the director of the DAOM program at Yo San University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Los Angeles.
She has taught science, supervised in college clinics and held the position of clinic director, as well as academic dean of both master's and doctoral programs at various Oriental medicine colleges in Los Angeles. She has more than 20 years of administrative experience, which has combined human resources, health care, business management and development. She is also a LAc, having managed her own private practice for five years, and holds an EMT certification.
Shuji Goto, chair of the AIMC Board of Directors, stated that the board felt confident with this decision and solicited the support of AIMC faculty, students and staff. Goto added, "Working together we will continue to make a difference in our profession. I look forward to your support for our new President as we move forward with the mission of AIMC."
National AOM Day Oct. 24
The National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) is once again sponsoring National Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Day, held on Oct. 24. Various AOM organizations, colleges and businesses will all be helping to spread the word and garner support for AOM
